Freedom To Read Week - Banned Book Activity

February 20th to February 26th is Freedom to Read Week!!!


CLA UWO Student Chapter and Librarians Without Borders are partnering together on Feb. 16th and Feb. 17th 2011 for a Banned Book Challenge. From 12-1:30pm today and tomorrow outside of the GRC will be a table of banned books. Come and choose from the selected books which one is not a banned book. Write your guess down and place it in the ballot box. Those who guessed correctly will have their name added into a draw to win a free banned book. The draw will take place on Feb. 18th 2011. Thanks Danielle Raymond for organizing this activity! Way to Go!

Bake Sale!

The UWO CLA will be hosting a bake sale for you on Tuesday, February 15th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. You can find us on the second floor, outside of NCB 293/295. See you there!

Pizza Party End of Term Event -December 2010


What a great way to finish the Fall term with Pizza & Cupcakes. Thanks everyone for an amazing Fall term and all your hard work. A lot was accomplished by the Canadian Library Association-UWO Student Chapter such as the CLA President's Visit, Networking Event, CV writing workshop, Mock Interviews, 50/50 draw, selling buttons, and a raffle for a homemade quilt. Way to Go!!!

CV Writing Workshop Details

We will be holding a CV writing workshop for MLIS students, conducted by Jim Brett. This event will be taking place on February 17th from 12-1:30 pm in Middlesex College, room 15a. 

In order to attend, those interested must sign up in advance. The sign up sheet will be held outside of the GRC at 12:00-1:30 from Monday, January 30th to Friday, February 11th. Any inquiries can be made to Megan Ladelpha at mladelph@uwo.ca.

At the same time, you can purchase buttons for $1, and enter into a 50/50 draw for $1 at the sign-up booth. The 50/50 draw will take place on February 11th.
